Prepare Prerequisites
Gather your ERP endpoint details, required entities, and test account data before opening the admin workspace. Identify who owns authentication, security review, and ERP connector administration. Teams that assign ownership early move faster through validation and avoid handoff delays when they start onboarding external users.
Connect Your ERP Data Source
Choose API, SQL, file, or connector-based integration based on your ERP and network constraints. For on-prem ERP, use the secure outbound connector so no inbound firewall rules are required. Start with read-only entities first, then add validated write operations after field-level permissions are confirmed.
Configure Core Access Rules
Create base roles for internal admins, customer users, and vendor users. Define row filters using identifiers already trusted in your ERP, such as customer number or vendor ID. Validate access with impersonation testing to confirm users only see records assigned to their account and location.
Launch a Controlled Pilot
Invite a small set of internal users and two to five external organizations. Track login success, page load behavior, and workflow completion rates for requests like RMAs or document uploads. Use pilot feedback to adjust labels, forms, and notification timing before broad rollout.
